Abu Dhabi Electronic Visas for the NYUAD Event for Educators, organized by the Institute of International Education (IIE)

Do I need a visa for my trip to Abu Dhabi for the NYUAD Event for Educators?  If you will be traveling with a passport issued by any country that does NOT appear on the list of countries below you WILL need to secure an electronic visa prior to travel.

Travelers holding passports issued by the following countries Do Not require a visa prior to travel to Abu Dhabi - Andorra, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Bulgaria, Brunei, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Kuwait, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Slovakia, Slovenia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, United Kingdom and Northern Ireland (Except British Overseas Citizens), USA, Vatican City

How do I get an Electronic Visa to travel to Abu Dhabi for the NYUAD Event for Educators?  IIE has made arrangements with CIBT's offices in the United States to secure electronic visas for your trip. CIBT is the market leader for travel document services in North America. In addition to securing an electronic visa through CIBT, you must also make sure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your departure date.

How Long Will It Take for Me to Obtain My Visa?  Please allow a minimum of seven (7) business days to obtain your visa. This is the minimum amount of time required to obtain a visa.

What is the deadline for me to submit my visa application?

  • Participants for the November event, please submit your application by October 22nd  
  • Participants for the December event, please submit your application by November 12th
  • Participants for the February event, please submit your application by January 28th
  • Participants for the March event, please submit your application by February 18th

What Information Do I Need to Provide to Obtain a Visa?
You must provide electronic copies of the following documents:

  • Scanned COLOR copies of the two information pages of your passport AND any amendments that have been made to your passport
  • A scanned copy of a passport quality photo. Your passport quality photo should be in COLOR, taken against a light background, and should be approximately 4.5 centimeters high and 3.5 centimeters wide when printed
  • A completed application form
