A Briggs is not part of the Australian Government. The Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship is responsible for issuing visas, including Electronic Travel Authorities. You can apply for an ETA directly through the DIAC website for $20, but you will not benefit from the extended services listed above. |
What is an ETA? |
ETA stands for Electronic Travel Authority. ETA is equivalent to a visa but requires no stamp or sticker in your passport. The ETA application is online and when your application is approved, your ETA is recorded electronically with the Australian government. |
How long does it take to get an ETA? |
In most cases, your ETA will be approved in less than 30 seconds. In a small number of cases, your application status will be pending for up to 12 hours. If this is the case for your application, you can check your application status on A Briggs's website until it is approved. |
How much does an ETA cost? |
The government fee for the ETA is AUS$20. A Briggs's fee of $45 includes the government fee and A Briggs's service fee. |
Who is eligible for an ETA? |
ETA is available only for tourist or short-term business visits to Australia. Tourist ETA is valid for 12 months and can only be used for tourism or to visit friends or relatives. Maximum length of stay per visit is 3 months. Business ETA is valid for 12 months, but the maximum length of stay per visit is 3 months.
